I respect your opinion as well.. I'm not trying to start a flame war.
Those 4 door saloons you mentioned might have horsepower.. but they are also bricks. The C6 is supposed to be around the 2900lbs mark. so HP isnt everything..

Re: C6 (Corz)
do you guys even know the specs on it? its on yet ANOTHER frame design.. the interior is going to blow away anything American and possibly hold a candle to some high end luxury sedans (dvd player I'm told)
Rumors of 400-450 hp in base trim with an 06-07 Z06 pumping out 500 horse
then there's the project blue demon.. supercharged 427 pumping out well over 650 horse.
yeah.. its JUST a C5 with fixed headlights
Not to mention changing the wheelbase, newer materials, better suspension and brakes, more C3 styling(sort of looks like they blended the early C1 headlights with a C5 and C3 nose to me)
I like the car, it's nice, but they were way to conservative with it. IMO, the C5 and C6 are just another car on the road, not something different or noticable. When a Viper goes by, there's excitement just like a nice C3 generates. The new Vettes just aren't there.
I'll reserve judgment until I actually see the car. I will admit, it doesn't look like they changed the skin very much.
But from everything I've read so far, this car really supposed to kick some butt. And it's also the best bang for the buck when you compare it to Porsches, Vipers and others in this class.
My question is why so long for the new Z06 to be produced?

:iagree: Though I will admit I was expecting a better front design based on the earlier side and tail shots (featured on the CF.com welcome page) which I did like.
They should have paid a lot more attention to the headlight design. Right now it just doesn't look very unique and significantly detracts from the overall looks (just my opinion) :(
I think you have to wait to see a car in person before you can reserve judgement. I used to think 74-77 vettes were awful, but when you see them in real life, they can be pretty nice if done right.
With a C6 done right, such as your preferred color paint and the right stance and tire/rim combo, you might be struck with the C6 bug.
I think C6s are damn sharp, but would like to see a slightly smaller car, the same wheel base/track but with more fender flare so the overall car feels smaller but still gives you the handling of a wider track and the feeling of muscle.
Its ok except for the nose ( no more flip lights.., looks like a toyota or something) a bit too many sharp edges for me, doesn't beat a late c3..
the drawings looked better. but they tried to mix a bit of all the older vettes in there, good try but could be better

Re: C6 (1bad69)
I guess I was exspecting much more for the C6. Look at Cadillac they have radicly changed there look. Ford is going retro with the Mustang and the T-bird and I think it's gonna be a major payoff for them both. Corvette needs to step up.
