I have a friend looking at a 76 with 86,000. Is it worth $10,000? It has fresh paint and is numbers matching. Anything special to look for in this year?
I love my 76, but its basically considered the bottom of the barrel. For 10K it had better be MINT and or frame off restored. For 10K I would say it would need NOTHING to be used as a daily driver.

For 10K we are talking perfect interior, carpet, seat foam and leather. Perfect paint job - base coat clear coat. No rust at all. And engine in near show condition. Door panels in near perfect condition. And one other opinion - if it is 100% stock then I would offer less $$. Because the mid-70 era Vettes are rated (at least mine is) at 180 break HP, they are really underpowered for a performance car. The more engine mods (headers etc) the more I would consider paying, without going crazy that is.
and you can send him back her when(not if) he wants more power, well tell him how to do that, right now im figuring out exactly what to do to my 76 L48. Oh L82 and 4 speed are both BIG plusses
Both are rare and there arent too many with both.

I agree with others and for $10k...best have fresh tires and check calipers for leaks and find out when and if refurbished with stainless steel sleeves. You're looking at an easy $500 for brake job including M/C!
