I am going to do a frame off resto on my 75 vetteand have a question concerning the sender unit in the tank.
Since I will be taking everything out would it be wise to replace the sender unit by a new one ??
The old one is still working fine but I don't know if I should replace it while I can or leave it alone...
My old sending unit started leaking.. so I replaced it.. It's a good idea to replace it if it hasn't been replaced in a long time.. It's easy to do it..
IMHO, with frame off, replace EVERYTHING that you can reasonbly afford. You won't regreat it later. The labor of "going back" isn't worth the "difference"
Even if you don't replace the sender at least replace the gasket. Once they dry out, they leak. Well at least 68-74, I guess with a 75 I'd leave it alone.

I'm assuming you have an early C3 with the sending unit mounted from the button. He's got a 75 and I think by then the sending unit was incorporated into the gas tank fuel filler and mounted from the top.
