ok so here's the problem, i just reciently moved out to california for school and unfortunately i have been forced to let my unrestored 73 sit in my parents garage back home till i come back from california, the car needs a complete restoration and i really havent gotten far into pulling the car apart and was wondering how difficult it would be to get a frame for this car if it needed it, im not sure if it does but it sat for a while before i bought it and i tend to worry somtimes, so i appreciate all the help i can get THANKS!!!!! :chevy
Re: Starting to WORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (chicken's73sting)
Since your now in the land of never rust or rarely ever rust, I would try to look for frame out there as its probable it would be in better shape than a frame from a humid state.
I would start looking with local corvette shops as they may have parts cars on their property. Posting here in C3 parts is also a good way to find something.
If your not sure you need it, wait until your done with school before you do anything.
Re: Starting to WORRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (chicken's73sting)
Frames are to be had with the choices above. I would say not to worry about it and try and plan your attack for when you come back including the what if I need the frame replaced. Although I am willing to bet unless its got accident damage your not going to need to worry about the frame so much. Good luck.
If your also very determined to work on it and have the financial means you could have it shipped and stored out by your school but that seems like a big hassle unless you plan on living out there perminantly.
:iagree: I see them on ebay all the time. I wouldnt worry to much, you will find one when the time comes. Thats a real nice area up there in Tewksbery. Very pretty. Maybe I'll move there. :lolg: :lolg: :lolg: :lolg:

My thoughts on the Ebay 72 frame:
"This is a frame that has never been in a wreck and had only superficial rusting. We had this chassis completely sandblasted and it has been electro-statically painted in our facility with black semi gloss enamel. "
Hello, did you ever think about taking it apart to do this.
Might as well just pulled the tires and dipped it in black paint.
Heck, I think most junkyards will pay you to take them away. A vette parts dealer no, he will stack them to the sky. Look around Cali and find on there, then work on it in your spare time.
