Just wanted the scoop on these from anyone who owns or has tried them-they as good as they sound  I've got the glass tops,& it sounds like a significant weight savings. :flag
I like the 1-pce bronze ASTRO top that I had for the last 6 years on my 80C3. The 1-pce top is great, but their original fastening methods sucked. I got 2 small plexiglass blocks and glue (both from Astro) and and tapped-in SS bolts ythat I cut off in newly glued-in blocks at the rear and that I machined as slightly conical pins to locate and engage similarly to the rear pins of the T-tops for a good fit. Then I cut the Astro knurly front *****/bolts to flush with the upper frame and covered and spray-foamed it as a permanent installation. I installed the foam while pushing black Vinyl cover into the curing foam to flush it with the plastic top frame and then I cut off the excees foam that protruded beyond the vinyl. I also dropped/glued 2 rubber washers on top of the T-bar to prevent any rubbing or squeeking of plexiglass. My car is in storage but if interested I'll post some pics. The newer ASTRO tops may have a better fastening method now.
i got one, there kind'a cheaply made but work's good and seal's ok.
the new one's have the mod's ghostrider did to his.
overall it's looks cool and cheaper then glass top's!

Great looking pair of vettes, and great videos too!
I like mine. It really improves the "fun factor" of driving. My car is noisy as hell anyway & I did notice a little more wind noise at hwy speeds. So far no water leaks but havn't driven in a monsoon rain storm yet just a few avg rains. It improves the looks IMO I have the gray top( Looks like black) and it contrasts nicely with the orange paint . I may need to get those cling on sun shades in the summer though.

Re: Astro Tops anyone? (dogboy)
I have the factory frames rebuilt with their plastic instead of the glass. Makes them much much lighter and I don't have to worry about breaking them.
The are a very nice set.
looks like BSeery & Ghostrider have taken some interesting approaches to solving the leak problems! I forgot to check the prices on the website, and I've heard that theres problems putting the tops behind the seat, and they scratch easy. :flag
I would like to get on of the Gray colored ones myself. I think it would look good with my 2 tone paint.
This spring I will look into buying one. My T-tops fit marginal at best now so I need some options anyway.

I'd like to know what you think, neil, when you get them.It will be awhile before I consider getting them,as I have a few other projects going now on my vette.I'll probly get that "windjammer" I think its called, that deflects wind over you when the tops are off, first. :auto:
Armstrong. Here are some pics of my Mods for the older style ASTRO roof and be sure to use rubber washers to prevent squeek of plexiglass rubbing on steel frame. I sealed the front where the Astro roof it meets the windown frame with black silicone caulk to match the car. The Astro is very quiet.
Front Mods: For permanent installation I used flushed the **** and foamed-in with vinyl leather covering. Note that I removed sun visors for full roof look (low incidence sunrise and sunsets: I use cap and sunglasses).
Rear Mods: Acrylic block glued onto the Astro top with tapped-in Stainless bolt that I machined and cut off to fit secure like original T-top.
Top view: You can faintly see the rear plastic block that has tapped-in bolt/pin thru the Astro bronze top
Rear top view: flush finished Astro roof.
hay new one's dont come with that rear mod you did (ghostrider).
nice fix to that chease'e clamp that come's with it!!
good job! :flag
