Default Carb Removal

I'm getting ready to remove my carb. Any words of caution before I do this?

Thanks,
Ron

Shouldn't be difficult. Try not to turn it upside down and don't spill gas all over yourself.

Unless you're changing to something new ensure they're exactly the same. Lay the new one next to the old one and go over them both to match that they are in fact the same. Also, before you start, stop by the auto parts store for some new vacumn lines and that you have enough gaskets for the airhorn and carb base plate.

Put some rags or paper towels to catch any minor gas spill from unhooking the fuel line.

A new set of ARP carb studs are nice and inexpensive, if yours are ragged.

Make sure the Garage is well vented. I have a gas furnace and water heater in the garage. I turn them off just to make sure they don't kick on a potentailly spark.

Thanks Robert. I don't have any gas operated appliances in the garage. I had the garage door wide open when I removed the carb. It came off pretty easy. This is a warranty issue so I had to take this one off in order to get them to give me a replacement.
