I recently bought a complete wiring harness for my 80. What I'm wondering, for those of you have done it already, would it be easier/smarter to remove the engine and then replace all wiring? What about the dash? As I've stated in other threads, I'm in no hurry to get the car done. I just want to do it right. And of course, if I do remove the engine, I'm SURE the "while I'm at it's" will hit me hard and heavy. Thanks
Well, I guess it depends on the status of the engine and compartment, wether you need clean them and to what extent....if you need paint in the compartment, get at the a/c etc. for repairs....
as far as the wiring per se...well, it's easy either way....
Pulling the engine would not make a difference in replacing the wiring harness. The only difficult part would be around the starter, and you would have to get to this part to pull the engine anyway.
As far as the dash harness, pulling the engine would not affect this one way or another because the engine bay harness is separate from the interior harness.
