Well its time to put some new rubber on the 69 project to get the rolling chassis part complete. I have been leaning towards BF Goodrich Radial T/A. I think they look good on a C-3 and the price is right. I went out to Tire Rack and they show the correct size as being 215/70-15. What size and brand are you guys running and how do you like them? As always thanks in advance for any input on the subject. :steering:
I'm running 225/70/15 BF Goodrich t/a on my 75,they look great and run very good. Your stock tire was f70/15 Which was 27"high and 6.5" wide the 215/70/15 is 26.8" high and 6.4" wide, that looks like a good match. My stock tire was gr70/15 which was a little taller than the f series.
I am running 245 60-15 BFG Radial TA on my 72 and like them very much. A lot of guys run 255 60-15 without rubbing, or just some small rubbing on tight turns. I like the look of 245 better, does not look as big in the wheel well, but both will do fine. I run 28 lbs in the front, 30 in the rear.
I'm running Firestone Firehawks in stock size 215R70/15. While others choose to go wide, I didn't want to worry about rubbing, wandering, or speedometer error, so I went with stock. Got them through Tirerack and couldn't be happier. :yesnod:
for a stock set up i would go with 255 but not bfg i had them on my camaro and they did not last long or grip very well but on the other hand they were very quite
for me i am running nito 295/45/18's and i like them :D
Ahh yes... the tire dilema...
I've had Gooyear Eagle ST's, which is now I think the GTII, in a 255/60/15 on my '76, which is the largest that will fit under a shark with factory 15x8 wheels. They were nice riding, but I wanted more grip. I now have the stock ralleye's with 275/50/15's BFG Radial T/A's in all 4 corners
(I have suspension mods to accomodate this size), but I am really not all
that impressed with the handling on these either. I used to have a set of Dunlop SP2000's, 245/50/15, these handled the best, but just looked goofy, too much open space. I love the stock rims, but we are so limited in the types and sizes of tires that fit these cars that alot of people buy aftermarket wheels just for that reason...
