'68-'82 E-brake handle question
Has anyone ever disassembled their e-brake handle? I'm sending some trim pieces out for chrome plating and would like to include my e-brake handle in the batch. I cant figure out how to take the plastic handle and release button off without breaking it. Is there a trick to this?
I could live with the chrome as is but since I've got the chrome plater's attention, I thought I might as well try to throw this in the mix as well. To the best of my knowledge it appears to be the original.

My e-brake is broken. My mechanic somehow put the button and spring back in, but I pressed it in one day after someone had lifted the inop handle up, and that button shot out like a bullet. The handle itself just slides off on mine. When I get home tonight I'll take a good look at it and see if I can figure out how it assembles. If I can figure out what holds it in place I'll post it.

Eric, the button threads onto a smal diameter rod (less than 1/8 inch) that goes through the middle of the chrome lever. I'm not sure how the rod attaches to the release pawl but to dissasemble you need to detach the rod from the pawl, pull the rod with button out, remove the spring and the handle slides off.
