New trailing arm bolt
I just bought the Mid America trailing arm bolt and shim kit. The new trailing arm bolt is the same length as the old one, but has about 1/2 inch more threads on the shank than the old bolt. When I install the new bolt, only threads are through the outboard hole in the frame. Should the shank of the bolt not be through the hole, it is on the old bolt.

You should be fine.
There should be enough shims in there to get a tight fit. Then just tighten it so it's solid but not crushing the sides of the pocket.
