guys,
how can i find out if the vac secs are opening properly on my holley 600???????
it seems to bog down when i stop on it pretty hard from rest,
i suppose i could disconnect the rod and see if it felt different,
possibly put some talcum powder or something on the secondary butterflys and see if it's washed off,
anyone got any better ideas though???
it's a brand new carb, it was only on my camaro for a few miles,
neil
I'm definitely no carb expert, but what size shot is your accelerator pump? Usually, the stock Holley's ship with the 30cc pump shot, and most of the tuners I've ever met, almost always put the 50cc pump shot in right away.

Re: holley 600 vac sec (camaroneil)
Put a paper clip on the vacuum rod right up against the vacuum housing. Take the car out and run it up through redline at wide open throttle. Then look so see how far down the shaft the paper clip has moved. This is how far your sec's are opening.

This usually is a sign of not enough fuel when the primaries first open. The secondaries don't open until the rpm's reach high enough to draw them in. I would check that the pump is working properly first, then start playing with the discharge nozzles and cams.
