C5 owners crying about the C6
I laugh :lol: :lol: I went over to the C6 sections just to check it out and it seems all the C5 owners are :cry :cry :cry about the C6. The are talking about how ugly it is and they would never buy one etc. I think it is funny because now they are just second class citizens and will be treated like they have treated C1 thru C4 owners since 1997. I love it. I like the new C6 better that the C5. It has more of a retro look with some sexy curves almost as nice as our C3's.
Round tail lights! Cool looking fenders over the front tires! The only thing I'd change is the headlights. I like the hidden headlight look.
What do you guys think?

Viper had 450hp back in 97 and now they are doing over 500hp and the new Mustang is set to be running good 400hp too, so the C6 could be the 3rd fastest American Sports car behind Ford and Dodge... It sure is the ugliest. :yesnod:

Well I must say that I like the C6 and I think those that don't like it will find that it grows on them, lets face it ALL Corvettes are great!!! :hurray: :hurray:

The one major reason I have a coupe is the recessed rear window look. If this had actually be added. like the rendition, with the slightly turned up tail makes the rear looks like a modern version of the early C3.
While I would have preferred the "flip" lights, the layout of the nose is nice,

Like I said over there in C6, I don't think all the C6 super critics realize just how lucky they are Corvette still even exists going into it's 52nd model year. They need to stop all their petty boo hoo-ing. Besides the fact that this car has faced the ax many times and somehow survived (unlike the F body), it did so far better than it's competitor's classic model lines. It could have went the tragic route Ford did with the T-bird ruining that early on by taking a incredibly successful sports car and turning into a clunky ugly sedan, or the sometimes lame directions they went with the Mustang, but they somehow managed to save that marquee, I think? Believe me, if this is the extent of how "bad" the C6 is in one aspect or another, I'll gladly take it. If you find too much fault with this car considering how much worse it could be I say you're a little too spoiled. The car is just fine aesthetically and mechanically. I'm sure this is the same range of mixed emotions and hot air that came with every new Vette generation.

It's pretty cool IMO. I'm not sure about the lights either, but I bet they grow on me. The side duct is to squared off and doesn't semm to fit the rest of the flowing design, but I'm nitpicking. Sure hope the C5 prices drop late in the summer . . . I'm ready to pull the trigger if I find the C5 I want, but saving $$$$ by waiting 6-9 months may be the smart thing to do.
