Front sway bar question....

Front sway bar question....

I purchased new sway bar bushings from VAN STEEL... awesome vendor by the way. They seem to fit the bar well, however they seem very tall. When I put the frame bracket on them... it seems to far from the frame. When I tighten the bolts to bring it tighter to the frame... it really crushes the bushing. Is this supposed to be this way? I cannot find documentation on the crush of the rubber bushing, only the torque setting. Could the bushing be too long? Or... the brackets that came on my car are the wrong year.... that would not be suprising.... Need help on this one ... THANKS

ps. VAN STEEL really helped me on my front HUB issue... MY HUB WAS DEFINATELY OUT OF WHACK. Thanks!

Probably the right brackets - original.
I would bet the aftermarket bushings need the accompanying bracket.

My new poly bushing came with new taller brackets.

Use washers as necessary so that the bar will rotate with little or no friction. Lube with waterproof grease.
