Default Suspension Upgrade mixmatch

I am preparing to purchase new suspension parts this week and I am seeking advice from the more knowledgable forum members here. From what I have read on the forum in the past several weeks my best option seems to be going with the new QA1 semicoilovers that Vansteel is offering for the front suspension and then with a Dual Mount fiberglass leaf spring in the back with QA1 12 point adjustable shocks. Can anyone offer me any information on the ride quality of the dual mount spring in the back? I would use the softest setting for normal driving, but I have been unable to find a comparsion of the comfort level to that of a standard monoleaf spring, can anyone chime in? Also I have been told that the rear dual mount spring works best with the front suspension using a tranverse mounted front spring. Can anyone tell me how they thing the coilovers and the dual mount in the back would act together? Perhaps Vansteel can offer his impressions after his recent swap. Thanks for any opinions/information guys.

I don't have the dual mount, but here's a bump.

C4s, C5s and C6s use transverse front and rear. That says something.

If you properly tune the coilovers, seems like the coilover/rear transverse should work fine.

Shock selection is important with VB springs - I suggest Bilstein Sports.

flynhi, thank you very much for your response. I have heard that blistien sports are too stiff for comfortable riding on the street? Do you find this to be true or?

Not true. I've got the 360# VBP monoleaf composite with Bilsteins on the rear of my 66, and its a great ride.

Devalis, I have the drive train and suspension out of my car and I have been thinking about the EXACT same setup as you. I have a street driven 68 427 vert that I plan to do the same thing with. QA1 12 point adjustable in the front with #550 springs (I wanted the high rate springs to help the car handle). A 1 1/8 or 1 1/4 sway bar. C5 rotors and calipers. The rear: dual mount glass spring on softest setting (no apparent ride height issues). 3/4? rear sway bar. QA1 12 point adjustable shocks. A six link rear suspension conversion. C5 calipers and C3 rotors (if possible).
I like cars that stay flat in the front (thats why I want the front stiff) and I think the back needs to stay soft and will follow the front. I am interested in what you come up with, let me know.
