Re: Which hood for an 80 poll (SharkintheWoods)
when I get the time and money, I am going to go with a Stinger style hood, with the front opening cut out. The additional room will allow at least a 1 inch spacer under my fuel injection throttle body for a spacer to keep it cool or to maybe add some NO2.
I've been telling myself to get the daytona hood for over 12 years now. Maybe since I'm finally working on it I will. I think the lines look good on the later models.
Looks like the majority have the same opinion as I do. The lines of the later model hoods blend well with the nose.
Thanks guys for your opinions! :seeya
How about "Whichever hood you like the looks of best"? Since YOU will be the one driving it and paying for it then maybe you should make yourself happy.
Now if you plan on letting me drive it, I prefer the L-88 hood. :D

:iagree:
With the '80-up Corvettes being more streamlined than '79 & earlier models, the early-'70s LT-1/L88 hoods just don't 'look' right (IMHO).
The '63-'67 "stinger-hood" on a C3 would be much more unique (making quite the conversation-piece), and as BSeery observes, offers a functional 'RAM-AIR' set-up, if you still favor carbs, as I do.
Painting the center 'spear' a color matching the interior allows for a contrasting 'racing-stripe' without looking "ricer", and the 'look' still says CORVETTE!
Well, Cheers Redshark!
It's got a certain "something" to it eh? I can't take the credit for choosing it, as it was on there when I bought the car, but it definitely partly influenced my decision as to which vette to go for.
You have a nice looking vette also - could eat your breakfast off that motor! But then that would just mess it up :)
