I spoke with Robin at VBP this afternoon about ride quality in my 71. He thinks my problem may be binding sway bars.
According to VBP, sway bars should be installed loose - with the ends disconnected, they should freely rotate in the bushings. If they bind, add grease and washers until all resistance is removed.
I'm on it tonight..........
I didn't think about needing to shim down the bushing-bracket, but I did lithium-grease inside the bushings. The before and after difference was huge. (tested by hand, hadn't driven enough without grease for a comparison) You may want to look at the control-arm links for binding also.
