Re: Spark Plug Torque (Bobchad)
I'm not sure if the torque varies from one engine type to another, but for what it's worth my '69 service manual specifies 25 ft-lb for the plugs. This is for a 427/390 engine. Hope this helps.

Consult the plug manufacturers specs, believe most with the crush washers state 1/4 turn past snug, I pretty much use that all the time.

This procedure has worked great for years! No need to reinvent the wheel.

Anybody ever have a spark plug fall out? The risk, and tendency, seems to be to overtighten. MJ

Didn't think to check the Service Manual. 15 for tapered plugs.

be carefull if you have aluminum heads. You don't wanna strip it out. Always use anti sieze on aluminum heads.
