Drilling front rotor rivets ?????
Since the search feature is down...can anyone discribe how to successfully drill out the rivets so that the rotor can come off? I have looked at the tech tip but uncertain if I have drilled far enough in & don't understand what I am supposed to do with a chisel & screw driver.

You can drill all the way through and then chisel around the rivet edge before pushing it out through the backside. Don't use a drill bit that is too large in diameter, otherwise you will cut into the rotor.

Re: Drilling front rotor rivets ????? (63Banshee)
so how long is the rivet? with the chiseling...are we talking about knocking the outside edge to the center? I mean, the head of the rivet is flat and inset flush in a bigger hole, now ther is a drilled hole in the head of the rivet and the was some space at the outside edge of the rivet head. Do I take the chisel to the outside edge & hammer towards the center hole?

About 3/4"

That's how I did it.

Sounds like we are on the same page. Those little buggers take more muscle than you might think, but they will come out with little effort once you get the right technique down.
