Default C3 Stereo / Speaker Upgrade

This spring I'm looking to purchase and install a new stereo, speakers, and amp for my '70 vert. Here's kind of what I'm thinking: must have MP3 capabilities, at least 500 watts RMS for the amp, and a couple of subs (I'm not sure of the size...I still have to measure under the decklid and behind the top when folded down). I'm interested in getting recommendations from Forum members on their systems (and see any pic's that you might have). What head unit, amp, speakers (specifically subs) do you guys recommend?

Default Re: C3 Stereo / Speaker Upgrade (Motor City Vette)

I recommend you stop at Mickey Shorr's on Fort St in Lincoln Park. There is a guy there by the name of Dennis (I think). This guy is in his 50's and has been installing car stereo systems in very expensive and not so expensive cars for over 30 years. He knows what he's talking about in terms of system capabilities for the type of car you own.

I'm real **** about my 82 and there are very few people I trust to touch my car and he's one of them.

I don't know if you want to do the install yourself, but, I'd let a pro do it like Dennis and not have to worry about hacking up the inside of your C3.

Let me know if you need a phone number or not because for some reason, they are not listed in the yellow pages.

Good luck!
