I just bought this car. I do not know much about it. I have a 1999 Vette mag that has some statements in it, but I do not know if they are fact, and it is the only info I do have. The mag says that it was an original 427 car, and got flared and competition prepped (whatever that means) at the dealer. It has a small block in it now. Pretty much the entire suspension is stock like, but aftermarket. It has a leaf spring in the front instead of coil springs.
Any info about this car, or how to go about researching an old Corvette would be greatly appreciated!

Yep a 68 vert exactly just like mine except different engine, body, tranny, rear, seats, dash...damn well everything.
Maybe we have the cigerette lighter. :jester

Rick, I can't tell you anything about the car but, if your Company would make a decent 7" depth small block Chevy road race oil pan with a "kick out" and good baffling along with a WIDE front box area, I WOULD BE ONE OF THE FIRST IN LINE TO PURCHASE ONE! You would need to make a pick-up for the Melling 10555 series oil pump. I know I'm talking to the right guy, I can read the sign on the front of the building past the Vette and here I thought all of you re-located to sunny Florida! All your pans are too deep for a road race Vette, so now you can lower that Black Bad Boy Racer (looks a little high to me, shoot for 5.5" to center of the front crossmember for proper height) and get one of your guys to start CORRECTLY designing a proper wet sump pan for us guys stuck with rules that prevent us from running dry sump pans (checking header fit to the oil pan side tanks for side pipes and chasis mount headers would be nice too, most people use Hooker or Stahl systems.) The Vette you have there will serve as a good car to prototype a system that will work on 63-82 chassis (there is a market out there!) I want an effective "kick out" for oil control for a 7,500 RPM small block, I know cornering oil control is impossible for a wet sump, thats what Accusumps are for even though you aren't guaranteed 100% saftey with them. Thanks to listening to my RANT.
that car would definitely make an awesome machine either to drive as is, or resto...all the good stuff is already done...flares, L88 hood, roll bar. nice ride
what issue and magazine was it? (a vette magazine? or "Vette" magazine? 1999 wasn't that long ago; maybe somebody at the magazine can point you in the right direction. :) MJ

Don't know anything about the car, but if you think it was a legit race car try the Vintage Race butt. they would have records.P.S. love the 62 in the background. :steering:
