Default ZZ383 Hood clearance question.

Hi,

I was looking at the ZZ383 Crate engine and the 425Hp was achieved usind a GM single plane intake manifold and a 750 Demon carburator.

Can somebody tell me if this will fit under my stock '75 hood, or if I use a drop bottom air cleaner, or will I need new hood/ Manifold ?

Thanks.

The ZZ383 really isn't any different than any other motor. I guess your question then is: will a single plane intake fit under a stock hood. If the search function worked, you could probably get your answer pretty quickly. Hopefully someone will come along who knows the answer.

The Edelbrock Vortec RPM fits w/ dropbase & Holley w/ 73-79 med.rise hood. That intake is about 1" higher, the L-88 hood is 7/8" higher than the med. rise hood. Depending on your setup, the RPM which fits may be better.
