You will find lots of links for disassembling, repairing and reassembling your column. Also there are several other picture links to go with those tech papers.

Actually, the blowup picture is really not a 1979 column. The T&T Column Disassembly & Repair Pics 1, 2, & 3 are of a 1977-82 column. They show the column being torn down and may be just a good for your needs.
