Bow Out ? (weatherstripping)

I am getting ready to replace my windshield pillar weatherstripping with some new stuff. I noticed the old weatherstripping has what I believe are referred to as bow outs. These are little metal doodads that kick the window back out as it is being rolled up to keep it aligned properly with the weathstrip window channels. I noticed that they are not on my new weatherstrips that I just purchased. Are these something I need to take off the old and crimp onto the new or what? I just want to get clarity on this before I start tearing stuff up. Thanks for your wealth of knowledge in advance .

The metal clips are attached to the frame, the new w/s will just shove into them. Use a dielectric grease to help ease the fitup.

Yes, I know what you mean. I still have to fix my power locks from my last fixin' adventure. It is like a self perpetuating project!
