I agree. If I hadn't performed the bulk of the removal/installation work on my C3, I would have twice the $ in it (I would have never bought it in the first place). Heck, half of the 'fun' is buying all of the new tools along the way :seeya
I figured you meant somebody else with the BB reference...
ykp53: I went thru the very same emotional roller coaster with my first vette. Got so frustrated that I finally sold it. After which, I kept kicking my butt for about 5 years for letting it go until I finally bought my current one about 2 years back. I've made up my mind that, point forward, whenever I get the blues, I stopping what I'm doing, have a few brewskies and chill. It must be a love/hate thing we have.
: The more you drive it the more reliable it gets. Eventually you will feel comfortable I drive mine everyday rain , snow , and it is very reliable. Love how it drives. Sometimes I think maybe I should get a C5 to drive everyday then I go outside take one look and say Ya Right :thumbs

Yep, welcome to the club. I do the same thing sometimes, but lately I just jump in the Vette and if something breaks I'll just have to deal with it.
Remedy for fear of driving long distances : AAA plus.
I drove my car 1500 miles to get it home when I bought it. I thought of it as a quest, and my reward for completing it was a Vette in the driveway.
I've gotten to the age where I also realize that no matter what I have, I'll always want something else. After a certain time of owning that object you desired for so long, you'll want something different. I think it's human nature to want to constantly upgrade.
i still think cars are cheaper than laying on a couch telling some guy your wine's & cry's for $100 a hr. and you can't hit him with a hammar if your
pi**ed off :lolg: :lolg:
I know just what you mean. I have had my 81 for 7 years now and have only put 3000 miles on it because everytime I go someplace with it I end up coming home on a flatbed. I got a towing card from Allstate towing. they will tow my car (any car) from up to 125 miles for $79.00 a year. There is no limit on how many times I call them. I'v only had to use them 2 times but its worth the piece of mind.
I also just bought a new Kia Rio. It cost me $10,200 and has AC, power steering, AM/FM CD player and a few other little goodies. Its a great daily driver at a great price. My daughter has one with 134,000 miles and has never had a problem. My son in law also has one , but his only has 50,000 miles and no problems. :D
