Default late c3 owners

I have a friend looking to buy a 79 for 7k. I have a few questions for you.
1.Was midnight blue a color option?

2.Should the rear bumper have been painted completely or should there have been exposed ruber bumpers?

3. The owner says the car needs a transmission mount which is why it shakes slightly at low speeds. Do you think that is even a possible cause. If so is there an easy way to check it.

4. With the exception of the shaking the car is pefect inside and out air and heater work original motor/tranny. Do you think the car is worth it?

5. I know the things to check for that are common with my 74, but is there any special thing that I should look for in a late c3.

I got my '82 for $6,850 with a fair share of minor problems, I'd say that's a pretty good price for that '79

1.Was midnight blue a color option?

No - Corvette Light Blue or Corvette Dark Blue. Perhaps it is one of those just being called the wrong thing. The trim tag should have code 28 or 82 respectively.

2.Should the rear bumper have been painted completely or should there have been exposed ruber bumpers?

All painted with two little black Bumperettes on the lower outer corners.

3. The owner says the car needs a transmission mount which is why it shakes slightly at low speeds. Do you think that is even a possible cause. If so is there an easy way to check it.

Possible but if you are going down the road, take your foot off the gas and put it in neutral, if it still skaes I would be looking elsewhere.

There is still a lot of things to check. Frame in particular but there are many items that should be checked for both safeties sake and value.

If required in your area, smog equipment, catalytic converter, emissions. Other stuff would be up to you if you want originality (matching numbers, etc.) or looking for a good driver.

If a problem was easy/simple/inexpensive to fix - the owner would have already repaired it. You might try the link below for help.

Correction, my 1979 has the midnight blue interior. Trim code 292 for leather and trim code 29C for cloth in 1978, 1979, 1980.
