LS1 and Hooker Sidepipes
I checked out Budman78's site concerning his install of LS1 with a 6-speed and wonder if it would be possible to install Hooker sidepipes. If possible, what modifications would need to be done?
I'm thinking perhaps custom headers would need to be made. I once saw custom headers made somewhere on TV by a shop near Evansville, Indiana? Any ideas on the cost of custom made headers?
Naw, Make your own, I did!
That way you will make sure you can get to every spark plug and nothing binds.
Buy some manifold plates and the collectors and then play join the dots with mandrel bends cut to size. I used my arc welder to join them. If you don't trust your own welding tack them together and take them to your local exhaust place and they can Mig them. Then grind and file all the welds smooth before the final joining up.
