Well I got two buddies to help saturday and overall it really wasn't that bad. The worst part was getting the tranny bolted in and discovering that I installed the throwout bearing in wrong and having to tear it a part (twice). My friend Brian (stngry63) decided we could deviate from the install instructions and leave the clutch and pressure plate already installed and that seemed to work pretty good. I still have a ton of things to bolt back in before I take a test ride but here's a shot of the room you have with the new tranny slid all the way back and the bellhousing bolted in. Sorry I only took a few shots of the install I had my hands full.
P.S. My website doesn't have much bandwidth so if the picture becomes red x's I apologize beforehand.
Re: Notes from a keisler tremec install (TTop Tony)
Looking good Tony, let us know what it's like once you have taken it out for a test drive. Glad it went in ok, bet you are itching to take her out and try it out.
Re: Notes from a keisler tremec install (TTop Tony)
Thanks for the information and pictures - hopefully I'll be putting my Keisler-Tremec in next weekend. Did you test the runout on the bell-housing prior to install - I've never heard of doing that before, but it seems to be important (and hard to do if you don't remove the bell-housing.

Yes my car was an original 4 speed and I didn't have to cut the crossmember. It was a chore but you have to put the tranny in and as far back as possible and then put the bellhousing on. the throwout bearing was the only hard part. There wasn't much room but it all went in. I hope to have some shots of the shifter install tomorrow. I'm trying to take my time but its hard not to throw everything on and go for a ride :D
