Default having problems with ecklers....anyone else?

well, i ordered the custom zr-1 rear bumper for my 77" and didn't like the look when i put it up to the rear. the rear deck slopes one way and the bumper top slopes the other way.....anyways i returned it a week later and contacted ecklers and they said that they would credit my account. i was gonna order the glass stock bumper and modify it some but they haven't credited my account yet. my package was received and signed for over a month ago and they are still giving me the run around. so basically i'm waiting on them to get my money so i can get my rear bumper..... has anyone had problems with ecklers and/or is there another place to order corvette body parts from?

thanks

yes i have and i don't think i will order from them for a while.
i ordered a fuel tank sender, it was the only place out of about 10 corvette suppliers that I had called that had one instock. I asked if it came with all gaskets. They said that it was supposed to but someone had take the one it came with out of it, but offered to sell me one at 5.99 :bs It was the only place that had one so I did it.

This is a real shame, back about 1989-90, eckler's was the only show in town, and they were good at it. I had a 73 I worked on and bought a lot of stuff from them, great service and very helpful. I think they tanked when they decided to be a public co a few years ago. No substitute for taking care of your customers. Now there's some great alternatives.

I'd give them a call. i've dealt with Ecklers many many time and never once had a problem. I haven't ordered anything lately, but I'd call them. Sounds like something got lost in translation !

Well, i just placed and received my first order with ecklers and found them fantastic, great price, quality and service. Received my order within 48 hours of placing it and I'm in the UK!!!
This is my first and only order though, time will tell if they continue this great service.

I have made 2 or 3 orders from there only. I will admit though I am much tougher on companys that I by from because if I treated my customers like that I would loose them. If I tried to sell you a car but it was missing a tire and I told you, that you would have to pay for it, you probably wouldn't like it and would take your business elsewhere. The only reason I didn't take my business elsewhere is because they were the only ones at the time that had my part. But if just one person chooses to by their part elsewhere because of this post then I will feel better. :boxing

The only thing I use from them is their online catalog ... it's the best. But I never order there anymore. Incredible shipping delays, lost shipments, high prices and inconsistant quality.

Life's too short to accept bad service.

Corvette Central has been berry, berry good to me. Shipped a back-ordered part PRIORITY MAIL at their own expense.

I called ecklers and was told to call back in 1 hour because the rep was going into a sales meeting (take my order 1st dummy duh! probably on how to increase sales) I called back and (the first guy had told me he would give me a 10% discount because it was my first order) promptly got into an arguement with some goober on the phone about how that discount was impossible and no one could have told me that. :mad

I told them to screw off there are 20 other places to order from! I don't need nor will I tolerate poor service!!!

On the other hand Zip has been great!

Hey vendors your customers are saying one of three things behind your back: something good, nothing or something bad. Here's the pay back ECKLERS!

I have had some real issues with Ecklers. Bought some adhesive from them. It flat-out DID NOT SET UP. Regardless of the amount of hardner I used. Glued the WHOLE car with it. NO bonding strength. Had to take complete body apart and scrub/grind out all the bad adhesive. MAJOR delays on the project. Ecklers wanted me to ship the empty glue can back to them at my cost and they would "consider" refunding my money and "possibly" refund the shipping. :bs They said I didn't use the product correctly...

So... went and bought some Evercoat locally. Work the first time with excellent bonding. Go with local dealers, Paragon, the Dr, Zip, or ever Covette Central. CC makes excellent factory exhoust systems BTW and now that they are in their new building, service is much better.

My wife tried to get me some Christmas presents from these incompetent jerks, with no luck. Her story is as follows:

"I placed 2 orders on Nov. 17th and Nov. 18, 2003. From the day I ordered, it took 2 weeks to ship out. That is ridiculous! These were Christmas presents I bought for my husband, and thought I had placed the order in plenty of time to receive them for Christmas. I phoned numerous times, and was told the one order was sent back to you because you forgot to include the customs papers and they would ship it out again immediately. On a couple of occasions, Debbie Hamilton promised she would look into it and call me back. She never called.

The other order was sent back because the "address could not be found". The address on it was somewhere in Memphis, I live in BC, Canada. I requested to Debbie Hamilton in early January/04 that you ship my order air, at no charge because of the hassle I had went through. She said she would take that into consideration. I waited 3 weeks, and still hadn't received my orders or any communication about it. Now after 2 months since I placed the original order, I called about my order (for the 8th time) and was told that they didn't ship it out, and that they were refunding my credit card! I was NEVER told this by Debbie Hamilton!! She told me they were going to re-ship it! It has been nothing but a TOTAL NIGHTMARE!! Because of the lack of communication from these people and not receiving any of my orders, I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN!!! And I will discourage anyone from ordering from them! I am extremely disappointed with thier service and lack of consideration!!!"

1 purchase has been refunded to date, the other hasn't, nor has the customs charges. I will never order from Ecklers again and think that as a whole we should try to get all forum members to boycott them!!!! :smash:

I agree forum members should boycott Ecklers. I no longer use them due to the very same reasons other members have mentioned. Our's is a small world and word gets around they will get the message or be out of business. There is strength in numbers.

I have ordered few times with them, and haven't had a single problem so far. I really like their online shop, lots of pictures, easy to find the parts you are looking for, and I usually have the shipment within a week, not paying extra and considering I'm a long distance away from them. I have had really good experience with Willcox as well...

Hey, must have been my lucky days...

99% of all my parts come from Paragon. The make be a little more $$$ but they always have the right part and it's in stock. That's worth it to me. :yesnod:
