Default Patriot side exhaust

Anybody heard of these ?
http://store.summitracing.com/produc...earchtype=ecat

Looks like they'll even install on stock manifolds.

I had those on a 78 camaro i owned once. I had full length headers and the bolted right up with the mandrel bent pipes that was supplied with it. It was loud but not too loud. Sounded good and the chrome was very good. You didn't get your leg burnt with the heat shield either.

Same diameters as the JCW pipes that people are using.
No 'fake' collector pipes.
I'm not sold on the looks of that heat shield, though.

I'd like to see some on a C3.

:lurk:

yea that's them, they were on my car when i got it, i dont know how the install was, but it looked pretty clean and easy...
pain in the @ss to polish though
couple things i didnt really like.....
one was that i had to keep the heatshields on , cause the pipes behind it were unfinished and looked horrible.
and the second was that i had rear exit headers so there was an S-pipe used to connect them to the pipes, but that can probably be remidied with side exit headers or stock manifolds.
oh and a larger pic is available if you click on my sig...

They look cool. I wonder about the 2" inlet... Does the muffler have a 2" ID too?

I have a set of the 4 into one style that has a 3 1\2inch diameter tube. It looks larger inside than 2", maybe 2 1\2? I really like my set because they are very similar to the origianl Hooker type. You can buy them from Summit, Jeggs or JCWhitney. I paid $204.00 from JCW, and I think they are the same ones that Jeggs and Summit sells. The 2 inch style will be a little restrictive, but still should have good sound and performance. In some things bigger is not always better.

Thanks Anar76 ! ....once again, this forum rocks !
No matter how obscure or "has this been done before".....there's enough rides here to provide an example ! :yesnod:

Polishing ? .....I'm going for the street vintage look not show....so that's fine by me.

Guess they should just 'bolt-up' since I plan to use my stock manifolds. :chevy

IF, when, and I get them on the car I'll show pics of the install.
