Need some help identifying/finding fan clutch for 74 BB
About the only thing that is not orig on my 74 BB coupe is the fan clutch. It has a simple belt driven fan currently. Does anyone know where to find a replacement unit to get back to stock? MAD, Eckler's et al don't seem to list an appropriate unit.

Unless I am mistaken, you will also need a different fan. The fan clutch accepts a fan that bolts to the clutch, not like the fan that bolts directly to the water pump which you must have.
Re: Need some help identifying/finding fan clutch for 74 BB (mfgaffney)
Hello Michael,
My fan shroud is trashed and I'm not willing to pay the price they want for a repro. I've decided to try the 2000 camaro dual fans instead. As you know my blue '74 is your '74's twin and is willing to donate it's fan to your cause.
I believe the guy I bought it from said the fan clutch had been replaced (the reason that the shroud was damaged), but I believe the fan to be original. If you want it just pay for the shipping and $500 handling and it's yours (just kidding about the handling  ).
Plus if I give it away it will keep me from trying to repair the fan shroud.
I emailed you my e-mail address
I will take a picture of it this evening and E-mail it to you

I also have a good driver condition fan shroud and shroud extension (for AC or big block) for sale in the same ad.
Previous posters are right that your current fan will likely not work with a fan clutch, it's probably a cheap aftermarket product, most likely some kind of flex fan.
