Default Vendor Discounts?

How do you know which companies give forum members discounts? Do you need a code for each month? I called Summit today and they say they no longer give forum members discounts. I would not care if I was planning on buying something small. However I plan on making a large purchase. Just getting a discount could influence who I buy from. Not knowing that forum members get a discount with a vendor is bad for both parties IMHO  :conehead

The vendors who are "supporting" vendors usually have an ad on the forum. Periodically they will offer special offers, ie special discount on suspension systems, trailing arms etc. I think only Zip's thru the forum offers a 5% continuous discount. Jet-hot recently became a "supporting" vendor, although they have offered a 20% discount to forum members when they weren't supporting vendors.

As far as I know, Summit, is not and never was a "supporting vendor". They offer a periodic 10% discount to online buyers sent thru email. There hasn't been one in a while though. You'll know when it happens if you're a regular on the forum.

The Summit discount seems to come for the month of July every year. It has been that way for at least 2 years so far.

The Zip discount is a little confusing, because if you click on the banner button to the left it just takes you to their site without explaining how to get the discount. Click through the "corvette mall" menu at the top and go to "c1-c3 restoration" instead & it explains.

I used ZIP yesterday and got the 5% discount. But you are right, it is confusing.
