Even with the second mirror there is still a considerable blind spot. It is on a 73 anyway. Be carefull and dont get too confident once you add the second mirror. I still swing my head around and look real quick just before I switch lanes. After all two mirrors are better than one but they still have a small field of view.
After I installed the passenger side mirror I added a stick-on convex mirror to it to help with the blind spot. It may not look too  , but neither does a car thats been sideswiped.

my suggestion. It is a safety issue and outweighs cosmetic. what is better. two holes in a door panel or having a an accident and possibly totallly the vette because you couldnt see.

:iagree: with everyone above.

I did it for both safety and looks. The only people who really care is NCRS and those that want their cars to be judged by NCRS.

Safety is MORE important than originality......do it!! I did on both my cars! Easy job. You'll be suprised how thin the fiberglass is, and how easy the drill bites. Measure...dry fit...measure again...then use the template. I have a template if your interested. email me with an address if you want it.

And NCRS cares so little that judging shouldn't be factor in deciding whether to put one on or not. The deduction (maybe 1 or 2 points out of 4500) is not because a mirror is present, it's because there's two extra screw holes in the door that are not typical of factory production. Same logic applies for a luggage rack.

I agree with all that was said. I added one to my 72 two days after I bought it three years ago. It has saved me more that once from a right lane passing car. Nice look as well.

Good driving on the "wrong" side, I spent two years in OZ and it was tough enough with a right hand drive car let alone with a "left hooker".
