Bleeding rear drum brakes on a cuda
Im bleeding the brakes on my 70 e body Barracuda (drums all the way around) with a quality brake bleeder:
1. I bleeded the master cylinder first
2. Then front wheels went ok
Here's the prob: On both rear brakes, I cant get ANY return in my bleeder on both rear brakes. Bleeder screws are clean. And no fluid is leaving the master cylinder whatsoever. Plenty of vacum on the bleeder. Parking brake is off (in case that makes a dif)
It almost feels as if the brake line itself is clogged, as when I pull of the bleeder tube, I can feel the vacum pop off, so there is plenty of vacum being produced by my vacum bleeder pump
Its been awhile since I bleeded brakes, and I cant seem to find what Im doing wrong. Im bleeding the brakes with the brakes closet to the master cylinder first, back to the furthest
What am I missing regarding bleeding the rear (drum) brakes? (plugged rear main/secondary brake lines?)
spit's steel to L/R wheel cyl. i haven't ever seen rubber brake line that long
I can't imagine chrysler putting a long rubber line like that in a braking system. I would check if this is correct or not and replace with a new steel line. This is a similiar problem I had with a proportioning valve on my mustang. I removed this valve and my problems went away.
