here is my setup on my 79. I have autometer guages for speedo/tach and a water/trans temp on the pillar. I am using the included autometer lights that plug in the back. They are grounded to the frame and for the power I spliced into the grey wire on the wiring harness for the stock tach/speedo. The grey wire only supplies power when the light switch is on. It has worked for some time now. When I went to put the speedo/tach back in, I tested the lights and they didn't work. My headlights still work. My running lights still work. On my headlight switch I have power and a good ground. I have narrowed the fault to between the grey wire on the speedo/tach harness and the green wire on the headlight switch harness. I can't find a fuse diagram, the one I have in my chiltons is not the same harness. So I pulled all fuses but the 75amp one. They all seemed good. I did notice there is some surface corossion on the fuse connections, but it has not cause a problem yet.
I can't figure out what to do..both harnesses are good and I can't find a blown fuse. Also it no longer goes "ding ding ding" when the lights are on and the car is not. It stopped dinging at the same time the interior power loss occured.
it sounds like a fuse, but with none being blown..i'm just not sure. the interior lights wire turns from grey to green at the fusebox
come on guys and gals i need you, i really can't figure this out.. no blown fuse..connection from green to grey is good.... headlights still come one...no ding ding anymore..interior lights don't work on center console and speedo/tach
