Default What is this little pipe?

I found this today. It was wedged between lines at the bottom of the engine compartment, right next to the lower radiator hose. It has a fitting similar to a fuel fitting (rounded off by someone as you can see). The previous owner had replaced the entire brake system, including the metal lines. Is this an old brake line part? I couldn't match it up with anything on the car...

Looks like a trans cooling line from the radiator

looks like the tranny cooler return line fitting. do you have an automatic?? auto tranny coolers plumb in right in that area, and it common for people to strip the treads from not using a tuing wrench. Brian

I knew I've seen that part somewhere before. I agree that is a fitting for the return line on the radiator for your trans cooler.

By the way, could you please post your sig pics top & bottom instead of side by side? It is making a lot of us 800 X 600 viewers have to scroll a_whole_bunch to read your post. Not trying to be a PITA, but just a heads-up.

That pipe could have screwed into rear of the base of the carburetor to supply the hose connection for the vacuum to your power brake booster.

thats the bubba energizer, commonly duct taped to the battery line as a capacitor for when his 8" optima subs are hitting off the 50 watt equilizer
