Default Quick question, about auto trans, cooling lines

I noticed I had a leak, and traced it to a rubber hose that comes off the end of the cooling line at radiator, and goes to a short line coming out of radiator.
Kinda looks like a splice to me. So my question is, are the lines from trans to the radiator all one piece metal, or did they come factory with the rubber splice in it?. I could not find anything in the assembly manual. Thanks, Randy

for a 78

These rubber lines are from the factory-your's may have been changed or may not have been changed, but, yes, the factory DID use rubber hose connections here.

The rubber section is to acount for chassis flex. Both the inlet and the return lines should have a section of rubber hose. When you go after replacement hoses be sure to tell the auto parts person that the hose is for a transmission line.

Thanks guys, that was quick. I just wanted to know if I should get new hose, or new lines. Always glad the help is here when it is needed.

Another note-get rid of those stupid ORIGINAL "D" style clamp(mini tower?). They kinda crimp the rubber in one area and cause worse leaks. The best clamps for these are the correct sized "worm gear" as they tighten evenly around the "circumference", rather than "pinching" on one area.
