Default vibration need help

hi i have a 79 l82 4 speed that has a vibration that i have no clue what to do with. i know its not the tires or driveshaft because it vibrates at idle and worsens as the rpms raise. the only thing i have done is change the tranny mount but it didnt do anything. im guessing its either the flywheel or the damper. i know the damper is original and the car has 98k on it. but how can i tell which is causing the vibraition.
thanks rj

Does it do it when you hold the clutch in?

A dead plug or bad plug wire will sometimes cause what appears to be a bad vibration. Try disconnecting a single plug wire at a time and see if you can find one that does not cause the engine to run worse when unplugged. This will be the wire or plug causing your problem.

There has been a lot of threads on pinion angles lately and by changing your trans mount you may have thrown your car out of whack meaning your trans might have a greater angle to the drive shaft than your differential, read down the thread list for pinion angle threads, prolly one or two on the first page, then follow some of the links for more info.
