The guy that's helping me put my engine together (ZZ4 with Edelbrock MPFI) has a question I couldn't find an answer for...could ya'll help?
"can you find me a close up pic of the throttle linkage installed on the fuel injection, the install book doesn't show how to hook it up and I'm having problems with that... any help is appreciated"
I told him that I bought the special TV kit from bowtie, to which he replied "I got the kit for all that, but that's just for the TV cable, i'm talkin about hooking up the throttle linkage to the fuel injection itself... the edelbrock book does not show anything about it"
So how about it?...any pics or suggestions out there????
:cry :cry :cry
63, I used a lokar throttle cable and a aftermarket throttle bracket. I had to adjust the bracket to accept the lokar cable but it turned out fine. It just clears the TV bracket. Hopefully you can save the pic and enlarge it. If you cant see it clearly let me know and I'll take another pic tomorrow. Don't know when you got your TV setup but I was one of the first to try it for Bowtie and I had to use another spacer for the linkage to clear the fuel rail. They said they were going to make a thicker plate for additional clearance.
You can try posting on the chevy talk EFI board. There are some folks there that have the pro-flo. http://www.chevytalk.com I have the Holley EFI so can't offer much help. The Holley throttle lever just has a hole and I used a screw on ball stud I don't remember where it came from and the throttle cable just clicked in.
Chad I got the off ebay with a matching air cleaner. They started leaking as the guy who makes them did not seal them good enough. It would be cheaper to make them yourself. Get the emblems you want and line them up and drill holes in the covers. To attach them use a speed nut on the underside but make sure they are sealed real good. Also trim the excess stud on emblem. I have since taken them off and installed the aluminum cast chevrolet covers for now until I decide if I want to put them back on. I have seen many emblems on ebay that could be used.
It looks like in your pic it bolts under the throttle body?...that makes sense
On mine, it looks like its supposed to bolt down on the side of the fuel rail with the brackets they gave us...weird...
I had to make my own throttle bracket. I installed this on my cutlass some 6 years ago now. This picture shows the braket really good. But with the Bow Tie TV set up you best bet is to get a holley GM braket that mounts to the rear stud of the holley carb and then weld it onto the bow tie tv cable bracket in the correct position to give you full travel of the throttle linkage.
