Default Blinker light problem

The blinkers work fine until I put on the parking lights or head lights. When I turn on the lights, the LH blinker light stays on. When I turn on the blinker it works ok. Once I turn off the blinker the LH blinker light stays on solid. With the lights off the blinker light is off and the blinker works fine. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

What year is your vette?Try removing the flasher relay, see if the problem goes away.It could also be an earth fault.

I love the Aussies.. EARTH fault, and AL-LOOO-MINIUM hehe

If a "hot" wire contacts a grounded enclosure, a ground fault results which normally will trip a circuit breaker or blow a fuse. Metal enclosures and containers are usually grounded by connecting them with a wire going to ground.

It could also be that you are out of blinker fluid :)

You've just described the exact problem in my '82. I replaced the flasher unit just becaues it was cheap and fast to do, but it had no effect on the problem. Let me know what you find.

Check the light sockets for corrosion. Probably on the left side. Make sure to pullout the bulb and use a strong light. Once you get it fixed, remember to use bulb grease (dialectric) to prevent reoccurance. Good luck.
