Default Let’s talk about driving our Vettes

Tomorrow, I am going to take a little nine hour trip. Eight hours of it will be driving. No big deal. Rather than just take the truck, let’s take the Vette so it'll be more of an adventure

Start here (I live in northern IA) A little shoveling and we're out. The main roads are clean and dry. The forecast is good.

To help in the making of an adventure, let’s make the first 500 miles our road test after reassemble. Just brakes and a bunch of other little stuff. :D

Say what you will. It's not some status thing. It's not the drag strip (although that's fun). It's not all of the time you spend doing your own stuff. There are a lot of things that it's not.

To me, it's really just the whole adventure.

Won't be the first and, with a little luck, it won't be the last. Hope to post some return pics.

hopefully fixed

No pics. :cry

I never take my Vette out in the winter unless the roads are dry and salt free. Supposed to be nice this Sunday, 60deg! Plan to take her on her last run before I start the BB swap! :hurray:

My short term plans are to wait until April before I take my baby out. Hopefully by then the snow will be long gone and most of the salt should be washed off the roads. My long term plans are to move where there is no snow...

I wish I could see the pics. For some reason it says "Failed To Render Image" where your pictures are, even if I copy and paste.

Glad to hear you are getting to enjoy your vette. Good deal. I say get out there and drive the thing.

Know just exactly what you mean. I live next to some of the most beautiful country in Texas and when the skies are clear and the temp's above 70 (and it almost always is!) the vette comes out of the garage. I have to say I don't understand our friend Dep's opinion that if you ain't racing it, you ain't enjoying it.

Here's a graphic representation of my perfect day: :steering:

I just returned from a short jaunt to the parts store. I find driving the vet very frustrating. The car wants to GO and the popo say NO. It feels best cruising at 90 mph but there is really no save place to cruise it. Very frustrating. YOu wqnt to wring each gear out but there is always someone in front of you. Very frustrating to keep all those horses reigned in, Frustrating
