Slow tach? Anyone else?

Slow tach? Anyone else?
I noticed today that my motor will hit its peak power band (red line) long before the tach gets there. Anyone else have this same problem? I would really like to keep (and use) the factory tach but... is this how they are or do I have a tach problem?

Can't speak directly for the 81 models, but I would assume that with a electronic tach that it should respond nearly instantly to any RPM change. Sounds like either you have an issue with the tach filter, or the tach circuit board itself. Try jumpering across the tach filter first and see if the situation improves. If not, move on the the tach itself.
