Default Bad Ring & Pinion

Can anyone recommend a good mechanic at a resonable price who works on corvettes in the Gaithersburg, Maryland area. I took my 72 Stingray to Tony's Corvette in Gaithersburg, md and he wanted $895.00 not including labor to pull and send out my rear to be rebuilt. The labor cost I could only imagine. I agree that Tony's work is the best around, but ouch!!! at his prices. I just need my ring & pinion replaced.

You could save a lot by taking it out yourself. It is not that bad of a job at all. Then you can send the pumpkin to one of the supporters here and have them rebuild it for you. Labor is very expensive when working on a Vette. I do all the work myself exept for machining of parts. I could not afford to own one if I had to pay someone for the labor.

:iagree: I picked up a complete differential for less than the price quoted. I can then swap them and get my original rebuilt without missing both of those summer days we get here in MinneSNOWta.
