Here's what it looks like so far. It took over a year of collecting parts and waiting for the shop to get a chance to do anything with it, but we're definitely making progress now :D

Here's what will be lerking under the valve covers :)
Speaking of valve covers, you'll notice that they're Brodix sitting on top of my AFR heads. I originally had Track1's, but chose to go with the AFR's after I already had the valve covers
You can see here the only 2 marks drilled into my crank during balancing :D
And this is just a shot of what it looks like from underneath :)
With any luck, maybe we'll be firing it in the next month
Re: FINALLY some engine assembly pics to share !!! (verskel)
That's one Wicked motor !
Thanks Verskel :D
Yeah Eddie I'm getting a tad excited now that I can see it take shape to what I was envisioning. I told the guys at the shop I'm hoping for 11's and they told me I'll 1st need to learn how not to spin the tires with this one
Re: FINALLY some engine assembly pics to share !!! (Wrencher)
Mike what kind of main caps are those? You didn't show a shot of the front block pan rails I was interested in seeing how much clearance grinding that they did?

Re: FINALLY some engine assembly pics to share !!! (SmokedTires)
Nice Mike. :yesnod: I know what you mean, it took me about 18 months to collect & assemble, and I'm not done yet. Some times it's better not to rush things.-----sheesh, and that coming from a Vette owner. You probably still have snow on the ground anyway. :D
Re: FINALLY some engine assembly pics to share !!! (gkull)
Wrencher I'm told that once I drive it with slicks I'll never intsall a treaded tire again :steering: I won't rule out that possibility at this time ;)
George they didn't have to clearance the block anywhere, I guess that's one of the advantages of going with the destroke :) The caps are the iron ones that came with the Little M block, they're not the billet ones.
Re: FINALLY some engine assembly pics to share !!! (Jughead)
Thanks Jughead- Yeah it's tough having to take so much tijme to try & complete something, maybe that's why we race to the finish line  . And yes I still have snow on the ground, but it's melting fast :D
Re: FINALLY some engine assembly pics to share !!! (AGVI)
Thanks AGVI, my current engine I also had professionally built 7 years ago but only driven it probably 4 of the 7 years because of other mechanical problems. It runs fine & I drove it to BG for the CF cruise-in 2 years ago. It still runs strong, I ran a 13.8 at 102mph last year with it. I had it for sale locally but no takers yet. It's been a very reliable engine. Why the change, wanted something a tad faster
Re: FINALLY some engine assembly pics to share !!! (SmokedTires)
When you say destroked, is your motor a 372?
Also, what cam did you decide on?
I've been seriously considering a similar build up on my next motor.
BTW-looks killer :yesnod:
