I don't get the popcorn thing either. Do I get a pop-up screen with explanation after I reach 10,000 posts?
It is called lurking, kinda like sitting back with a bag of popcorn while you watch a movie, or in this case sitting back and watching a thread while it unfolds.
I wanted the 1980
because I like that older body styl and I wanted to see
what you guyz did to them
And from what I saw
You Guyz have some sweeeet vetts
Motorhead.... What rear set-up are you running in your vette? Is it a stock rear? Is it re-worked? What gears? Have you had any problems with it? Reason I ask is because I have a 1980 rear that I am thinking about putting in my 75... however, I do not want to put something in that may be weak or prone to problems. Thx :steering:

It won't work. You will have to modify a lot of pieces. Your better off w/the cast rear. It's stronger. If you have an 80-82 you could bolt the cast rear up w/no problems but I don't think it would be worth it to put the 80-82 rear in your 75
yes.. I realize it is completely different. I would have to weld in the tabs, etc... I am trying to figure out how strong it is. I had it rebuilt and only put @ 5K on it when I removed it and sold the car..(the 1980)...( put a stock gear ratio rear back in).. So I still have the 1980 rear with 3:73 gears in it and a fairly fresh rebuild. I will be going to a Big Block before too long.. and I am concerned about strength of course. So, With that, I was wondering what kind of HP that 1980 rear can handle without exploding everywhere. Is it more worth it for me to stay with the rear I've got? I have the stock 3:36 gear in it now. thx..
