Default Big wheels

Can someone share some advice on getting aftermarket wheels? I am looking for something 17" to 20" for show but there doesn't seem to be much of a selection in these sizes with the right backspacing(0") and offset(4").

About all the 20's are made to order. American racing can do this but it is a 8 week wait or so. Do a search as there are a number of us out there running the sizes you are looking for. Mine are 20x8x4" american racing TTII's.

Check out this link for starters.

Also hang around long enough and you'll see plenty of guys with great set-ups.

All 17s is great. 18s rear, 17s front look amazing, and is what I'm planning on doing. I wouldn't go with something as large as 20s, that narrow little strip of rubber just doesn't look right, and I would imagine it is hard to get a size to fill the wheel well.

Just my opinion ;-)

The tire size (diameter) stays the same with a 20". You just get less sidewall.

Hi 82Red, there's plenty of choices for you to choose from 20" diameter is the biggest you can have and still maintain the stock tire/wheel diameter (27"). I went with 20" American Racing TT II's two years ago when they were not as common as they are now. They still look good though. To help you choose right wheels for your car here few tips. If you are using stock body car, no flared flares, stick to 8" wide wheels in front with 4" backspacing and -12 offset. If you have offset trailing arms at the back you can use 10" wide wheels with 5.25" backspacing. If you are using stock TA's go with 8" wide rims with the same specs as in front.

Those wheels get better looking everytime i see em. you had me seriously pondering 20s for a while, but tire cost made me re-think it. you need to get some pics of it in the sunlight! that paint to too good to be shown under flourescent lighting!

Thanks man, I'll be taking the car to a local car show in two weeks time, I try to snap some new outside shots of it finally! The 20" tire prices are approx. 20% lower than they were 18months ago! :yesnod:

Thanks guys for all your advice! EricR and Groovyjay - I think your cars looks great! I think the TTII look best in 20" (least "pimpy") but it is beyond my budget. I have started shopping around and the least "snoopydoggyish" looking rims I have found and am considering are these:
http://www.cabowheel.com (style 728).
About $2000 including tires, mounted, shipped, and tax included.

It is 20x9 with a 0 offset. I know with 255/35's I could pretty much keep the same overall stock diameter. I plan to put the same size all around. Should the 9" width work in the back with the stock trailing arms? It is an inch wider than stock.

I think I would need to see those rims on a vette first. Maybe someone could photochop them for you. Be careful on the back spacing, go with what Groovyjay has recommended as this is also what I run. Sometimes, and in the case of TTII's, rims are non-refundable so getting a known-to-fit style and size is the way to go.

those still score pretty high on the bling scale if you ask me. id say the black ones are the least "pimp" rims on that site.
