Default 80 Radiator Cap?

Any suggestions on a high quality radiator cap? I just ripped my old Stant off which was siezed on over years of not opening. Should I go back to an OE? If so what was the original part number? I went to the Autojoke and they had this terrible, ugly octagon cap. They said its better than OE, I really doubted that when I saw, made in china.

Thanks for the help!

The NCRS Technical Manual says AC Type RC-33 was what was on the car originally, although the Owner's Manual may state AC Type RC-27.

If you are not concerned with the original part number, the your Chevy dealer has OEM# 10409635 as the GM replacement cap currently available.

I have a Stant "Lever" cap on mine. Since I am not doing NCRS, that is the cap I will use. I have used the Stant brand and the lever version since I first saw them in the mid-80's.

The current GM replacement I got is not the stainless one of old. It is black plastic and talks about orange coolant on the label. Still fits fine, but doesn't look right IMHO.

I bought a cap at NAPA... the old one wasn't doing the job.
