I'm currently running a pair of 3" Dynomax Race Magnum "bullets." At $30/per they are certainly cheap, but for a muffler they don't do much muffling.
I do have a pair of Flowmaster 40 Series "Delta Flow" mufflers for sale that came off my '74. ~4000miles use. $60. I liked them, but were a little too quiet for me.

I run the same Flowmasters and I love 'em. I love that sound when you jump on it. :yesnod:
Just installed the Spintec mufflers iwth a 2 1/2" X pipe. If you like the sound of Flowmasters, wait until you here the Spintecs, a little pricey here paid $150 ea.

OUCH.Yeah, that's what I was hoping to avoid. I don't want to cut corners, but my budget is low...
So,to clarify;what I'm seeing is I don't have to run a Corvette specific muffler to run with this particular exhaust? I can go ahead and use a "universal" fit muffler form one of the name companies?
Anyone know the best case length and offst to use?
i got mine off here. for $30 (shipping) i just went to the C5 racing section and asked if any guys still had thier stock mufflers and what they would part with them for. well a couple guys said if i would pay for shipping, i could have them!
they are a little quiet, but i love the sound they make. boomy at idle, and calm until you open it up.
Get the Walkers, they are a direct fit and have the tips and necessary brackets attached.
Aren't those the dynomax that are like $200+ a set?
Yes, and fit correctly. You don`t whine up with a plummers nightmare trying to locate hangers and adapters. Plus no pump jockey annoying sound. If you have some HP, it comes right through.
Hi
I also need new mufflers for my C3 '79.
I don't know what is on now, 2 different ones with no marking.
how do I know what sound they make? or how loud?
I was thinking of getting some dynomax super turbo..
i don't want too loud, but a good sound.
whats the difference to a flowmaster or hooker?or other brand and type?
thanks
