I'm replacing the window motor in my '77 with a remanufactured one from Ecklers. The power connector on the new motor is different from the original- instead of parallel + and - connections, the new ones are perpendicular to each other. I have no idea which lead is what, and I don't want to damage the motor by hooking it up incorrectly.
Anyone know which lead is what? or any other suggestions?

I'm not sure about a 77. Will your harness connector fit on in both directions? I bet it wont. You can always pull the fuse or disconnect the battery and try.
Re: Replacement window motor and polarity? (Captain_Kaboom)
I think the motor with the "T" shaped (perpendicular) connectors is a later model. The early C3's used a "=" shaped (parallel) connector. Regardless, the two contacts are the 12V+ UP and 12V+ DOWN. The 12V negative is through the frame of the motor (chassis ground). Incidentally, this motor was used on a ton of GM vehicles and is available rebuilt from Autozone for less than $60.

If you don't want to cut up your wire harness to install spade
connectors, there is an adapter sold by GM.
One end of the adapter plugs into your wiring harness
and the other to the motor. The GM part no. is 4999663.
I have also seen it listed in the Last Detail and Zip Products
catalags. It retails for under $10.
