test fitting carb...throttle adjustment ????'s
Okay I am attaching the throttle cable and do to recent posts want to do it right so I don't lose any horses from not achieving full travel.....
#1 The throttle cable has more slack than I would like behind the throttle bracket.
#2 when attaching the cable to the top hole on the throttle linkage...i had my wife push the pedal to the floor slowly and when the pedal reached the floor i checked to see if the linkage at any extra travel and it did... about 1/8-1/4 of an inch....only enough for the secondaries to move 1/8 or so of an inch.
I moved the cable down to the notch below on the linkage about 1inch from the pivot...that's not to close is it? I don't want to loose the leverage from the linkage and break the throttle cable (could this happen) Now I have perfect travel from idle to full open.....
any advice is appreciated.
