on my 81, i just took off the evap canister and my question is this. the line coming from the gas tank to the canister, i have plug it , will that build presser from the tank causing my tank to burst? or what other problums may it cause. no computer---not stock carb :flag
Sorry that will cause a big problen. As the tank is empited , it needs air so the tank will not colapse. Like wise when the tank is full on a hot day it needs room to expand. Very risky.
I just unplugged my cannister from the carburetor and haven't had problems. I did not plug the hose, just tucked it away. My cannister was deteriorating and pushing crap into the carburetor, I cleaned it out three times in one week. Unplugged the cannister and haven't had to clean it since.
Fuel caps are threaded and they don't make a vented cap in that style. You'd have to "modify" it yourself. Here in CA. you have to have it all operational to pass emissions, even the vapor canister. It would seem that there is some problem that is allowing fuel to build up in the cansiter.
